Rockwoods School Building

History of the School:

The school was established in the year 1962 under the aegis of the Rockwoods Educational Society. Registered in 1963. It was started as a kindergarten school and was made into a primary school in the year 1964. From the year 1966, it was upgraded into an upper primary school & was recognized by the Govt of A.P. The school was situated in the interior of Domalguda and was catering to all strata of society during this period. In the year 1977-78, the Government granted financial aid as this was the only school in the entire area of Domalguda. The school enjoyed a good reputation as one of the best institutions both academically and financially. But the development and growth of the school were stunted as it was not a High School. Due to the above, the pressure from the parents increased and the need to make it a High School was very necessary. Hence in the year 1985, the management made the same changes and handed over the responsibility of making it a High School. The school follows the SSC (State Government) curriculum and is affiliated to the Board of Secondary Education of Telangana Government.

Progress of the school:

Thus in the year 1987, the recognition & permission to class VIII was made and accordingly year after year the school was given recognition and became a full-fledged High School from 1989-90 where the first batch of students passed out in flying colours. Then gradually, the demand for more spacious classrooms and more infrastructure was made. The student strength was 400 and began to grow from 1989 when the school became a High School. By God’s grace in the year 1991, a new premise in the vicinity of Domalguda was located and gradually the whole school was shifted. By the year 1998-1999, we reached a peak with student strength of 900. Another premise for the primary section was taken adjacent and progress was made. It was at about the same time the school got the Christian Minority Status. All through the results of class X were up to 90% and sometimes more. In all areas, the school enjoyed an excellent name and support with all departments at all levels. There was an emphasis on all levels. There was an emphasis on the all-around development of the students. The school managed to come out of total aid by 2003-2004 and thus was able to manage on its own. From the year 2006-07, the need to the school was necessary, as by then it became a full-fledged High School.
